Goal Setting Workbook

Is your life the way you planned? Are there some changes you would like to make in your life? Are you afraid that you cannot keep any goals you might make? If you have made up your mind to change your life, it is time to get started. The first step is to buy a goal setting workbook. You can buy one that is already planned by some psychologist or you can create your own. If money is a problem, just buy a notebook and do the work yourself. Either way you will make progress with changing you life.

The first step is to take stock of your life. So that the process is not so depressing, start with what you like about your life and yourself. If you have a hard time with this, ask for help not flattery. Even if you think your life is a disaster, you can find something to love. If you can’t, maybe buying a goal setting workbook might help give you some hints. Anyway, make a nice long list of your good points. Don’t overlook anything. You can even add that dogs like you or that old men love to talk to you in the market. Fill your list with all the positives you can think of.

Next comes the easier part, you get to write down the negatives in your life. Not only will you write what you find unfurling about your life but you will also write down what negative traits you have that are ruining your life. Next you should prioritize the negative traits. You cannot possibly change everything about yourself at once. Choose the top one or two negative traits and write them on the workbook section for the day you are doing the project. That means I am starting now.

When you write down the goals, always be positive. Also be sure that you don’t start with an impossible goal such as I will meet the man of my dreams today. That might happen but it is usually a disaster waiting to happen. A better goal would be to acknowledge that you are lonely by writing I will make time for recreation with my friends. You never know who you might meet. Write this goal down every day until you start making it happen. Journaling each day and how you worked to achieve your goal keeps the momentum going which is very important.

When you have achieved your goal and no longer avoid your friends, you are ready for the next step. What is your next goal? Whatever the goal, make sure it is attainable. You have already been successful so this one will be easier. Write down the goal every day and journal until the goal becomes a reality. Keep this up until you have the life you want. No life is perfect but affecting change, although difficult, is one of the best gifts you can give yourself.

Keeping a goal setting workbook may sound boring or tedious, but it is essential to make and keep goals. After a while this process will become a necessary part of your life.
